Ellen Moorhouse

A journalist for more than 30 years, Ellen spent two decades at the Toronto Star in a variety of posts, including Sunday Business Editor and Real Estate Editor. Before that, she worked in educational book publishing, taught upgrading at Humber College, developed a home improvement magazine and became an English-as-a-second-language teacher. Always interested in community issues, she has been involved with a variety of local projects, including volunteering for and serving on the board of the not-for-profit Revue Cinema. It was that connection with the neighbourhood theatre, coupled with a flood of changes in the community, that inspired the idea for Back Lane Studios and CityShorts.  Ellen believes the more we know about our community, the more we value it.
