
Neighbourhood Improv for Beginners! For Adults
Ready to laugh, loosen up, and learn something new? Join our Beginners Improv Class with improv veteran and neighbour Lisa Merchant at Back Lane Studios starting Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. She promises a fun, supportive space where you’ll explore creativity, build confidence and unlock your natural spontaneity. No experience needed! Through a variety of improv games and simple exercises, you’ll learn to trust your instincts, collaborate with others, and say “yes, and…” to new possibilities. Perfect for anyone looking to boost communication skills, reduce stress, or simply try something new and exciting.

About Lisa Merchant:
Lisa is a highly sought-after improvisation instructor/facilitator/performer. She has been studying, performing and teaching the art of improvisation for 35+ years. A faculty member at Comedy Bar Pro, Social Capital Theatre, and a Senior Faculty member at The Second City Training Centre and a corporate facilitator both privately and with The Second City Works division. Since 2017 she has been Program Chair for Improv(ed) Legal Skills: Improvisation for Legal Professionals for Osgoode Hall Law School Professional Development. She is a multiple nominee and winner of 4 Canadian Comedy Awards, 3 for Best Female Improvisor.
