- MaryAnne MedvedMaryAnne MedvedMaryAnne is retired from the world of Advertising, Marketing, HR and Development. In between raising her family, MaryAnne enjoyed careers in both for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. She spent her years in advertising whensmall Canadian advertising agencies were disappearing through mergers and acquisitions, often by American companies,and when Canadian advertisers often used ads and commercials conceived and produced in the U.S. Her career path changed with the times. MaryAnne loved a challenge and jumped into a marketing position for a health-care company, had her eyes opened in HR at the world’s largest spirits producer, but, most notably for her, were the years in Community Outreach and Development at Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada where she felt her efforts made the most difference in today’s changing world.
- Keith HarradenceKeith HarradenceKeith is a scientist and entrepreneur. He has helped create companies engage in upper atmospheric monitoring, recycling, educational products and alternative energy. He is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at TerraNova Partners. His role at Back Lane Studios is governance, strategy and focus.
- Ellen MoorhouseEllen MoorhouseA journalist for more than 30 years, Ellen spent two decades at the Toronto Star in a variety of posts, including Sunday Business Editor and Real Estate Editor. Before that, she worked in educational book publishing, taught upgrading at Humber College, developed a home improvement magazine and became an English-as-a-second-language teacher. Always interested in community issues, she has been involved with a variety of local projects, including volunteering for and serving on the board of the not-for-profit Revue Cinema. It was that connection with the neighbourhood theatre, coupled with a flood of changes in the community, that inspired the idea for Back Lane Studios and CityShorts. Ellen believes the more we know about our community, the more we value it.
