One in a series on the history of Parkdale and Canada by Jack Gibney. A member of the Sunnyside Historical Society, Jack has done extensive research into local history. He took part in one of our SilverShorts workshops, funded by the federal New Horizons for Seniors Programs.
Lambton House: Margo's Story
Always a fan of history and old buildings, Margo Duncan went to a meeting 25 years ago about Lambton House, came out as the secretary of Heritage York and has helped preserve and restore the heritage building in west-end Toronto near the Humber River. Before it closed in 1988, it had had the longest continuous liquor licence of about 140 years. Margot participated in a workshop funded in part by the federal New Horizons for Seniors Program.
